When I logged into my Rogers account today I noted a special alert button. It led me to the following message:

I believe there is a LAW that says companies are obligated to honour an advertised charge, even though it might be erroneous — there is no excuse for companies to charge customers for their (the companies’) mistakes!
Not sure the discount I was receiving was advertised. I feel like the little girl in the Ally commercial who doesn’t get a real pony.
I believe they can actually do this, but I doubt it will keep their customers happy.
Maybe if enough people complain (or write about it), they will give you another discount to make it up with you
